When someone "follows" you on Twitter, they have searched for a Twitter account name and clicked the "Follow" button. They will expect that you post relevant comments or announcements with that account. Since they will be seeing or reading your posts, you want them to expect a certain kind of value and receive that.
By clicking on the Follow button, a person is effectively stating "I think you have something valuable to say and I want to see it on my Twitter home page."
Your followers will be seeing a lot of posts on their home page everyday, so you want them to look forward to and expect to get something valuable from reading your posts. They are effectively given you some time or screen real estate on their private page to say something.
To keep them from unsubscribing, you need to provide something they can use, something they wouldn't find elsewhere or would not find on their own.
Many people re-post the Tweets or blog entries from other sources. This is useful if your followers don't have the time, like you do, to search the Internet each day and round up the relevant info and links.
Some people, authors and speakers especially, post tips and advice form their own life experience, talks or books.
Often Twitter users post links to other Twitter people they have met whom they found to have something interesting to say or have a useful product.
Be careful not to blatantly "sell" to your followers. This is a trusted medium and you want your followers to look forward to your posts, not dread them like SPAM or junk mail.
